About Us

About us

Laola is a reversible swimwear brand designed and crafted in the island of Puerto RIco. Founded by a true island girl at heart, our pieces are thoughtfully designed to flatter all body types, making you feel confident and comfortable all day long at the beach. At Laola, we pride ourselves on our commitment to body positivity and brand transparency. These core values are at the heart of everything we do, driving us to create swimwear that ticks all the right boxes.

Sustainability and Environmental Impact

Our pieces are ethically made in-house by Puerto Rican women. To minimize our environmental footprint and reduce waste, we carefully manufacture smaller batches with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring that every piece is created to the highest standards of quality.

We understand that sustainability is an ongoing journey, and we are constantly seeking out new ways to improve our practices and reduce our carbon footprint. Through continuous education and innovation, we are dedicated to making a difference and leaving a lasting legacy for generations to come.

The History of Laola

Sara Silva is the founder and designer of Laola, she has dedicated herself to building a brand that embodies her vision and values. In the midst of the pandemic in 2020, Sara took on the challenge of self-teaching herself about fabrics, design and swimwear. With determination and resilience, she overcame countless obstacles and mastered the art of creating pieces that celebrate the beauty of human form. With the support of her amazing mentor, Tommie Hernandez, she successfully launched her first products and brought her vision to life with the creation of Bandy, a top and swim shop that quickly became a sensation.

Over the course of three years and over 10 successful swimwear collections, Sara established herself as a force to be reckoned with in the world of swimwear fashion. She embraced the opportunity to take her brand to the next level. That's when Bandy then became Laola, and a dream became a reality.
